I wanted an easier meal for Wednesday, so I made Hamburger Stroganoff, served over a mixture of brown and wild rice. We also had microwaved frozen peas. My bonus daughter's fiancé wanted the recipe, so he took a picture of it with his phone.
September 4, 2025 at 3:04 pm #47255I had rotisserie chicken with yogurt and a salad.
September 4, 2025 at 7:05 pm #47256BakerAunt - I'm laughing! Last night we had grilled chicken thighs, and bean salad with beans from the garden. But we also had Pepperidge Farm dressing, from a bag I had partially used last winter! It's gone now, and fresh bags won't be in the markets for a couple more months this fall.
September 4, 2025 at 9:26 pm #47266We had steak and mushrooms, and a cinnamon roll for dessert in lieu of birthday cake. (I turned 76 today.)

September 5, 2025 at 9:49 pm #47279For Sarah's birthday dinner on Thursday, I made Maple-Glazed Pork Tenderloin and muddled mashed potatoes. We were going to have microwaved frozen peas, but Scott was so busy washing up dishes as I cooked that he forgot to microwave them. We all decided that they were not needed, as we had homemade applesauce from the freezer to go with the dinner.
Friday night's dinner was relatively simple. I made a big pasta salad, which we had with roasted bone-in chicken breasts and the two flatbreads I baked today. The rest of the cake disappeared at dessert.
Happy Birthday, Mike! I had forgotten that you and my bonus daughter share a birthday.
September 6, 2025 at 4:39 pm #47281I'm going to friends tonight so I'm having yogurt and an apple before I go.Lot's of snacking going on tonight.
September 6, 2025 at 9:27 pm #47283I picked up some shaved ham at the farmers market on Saturday, and Sarah and her fiancé, and I had it on sandwiches. The flavor is excellent. My younger bonus son and his family left at noon to drive to Chicago to catch their plane, so we had a relaxed dinner of leftovers, with people choosing which they wanted. I put my serving of green bean salad over raw spinach from the farmers market and had some of the roasted chicken on the side.
