Apples + leftover dough + oil = Apple Uglies

      An apple
      2 T brown sugar
      1 tsp Cinnamon
      pinch salt
      1 tsp Cornstarch

      Dough

      FOR GLAZE
      apple juice
      powdered sugar

The only instructions for this that I could find on the forums are pretty vague - so this is all the info I have. I'll be working with this gradually, as time passes I'll update quantities/directions.

..that I made last night using leftover dough from my Bun recipe. To the dough I add a stove top made apple pie like filling being heavy on the cinnamon. I made glaze by mixing apple juice with powdered sugar and a pinch of salt.

Thank you all for the nice post about the apple uglies. There is really no recipe. It is just a way of using leftover dough or a stolen piece off a loaf.

Since we only make a couple of these at a time, I just peel a single apple, cut it into pieces a good bit smaller than you would for a pie, mix in a couple of tablespoons of any kind of sugar, sprinkle some cinnamon, a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of flour then cook on the stove top for a few minutes. After it cools just use your fingers and mash it into the dough. Let it rise a bit. Cut pieces off about the size of biscuit before it is baked, then fry till dark brown.
