Maraschino Cherry Cake

2 1/2 cups cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, unsalted
1 cup sugar
2 each eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup cherry juice
1/2 cup maraschino cherries, sliced
1. Sift flour, measure, sift with baking powder and salt. Cream butter until smooth and shiny, add sugar gradually. Add eggs one at a time and beat until light-colored and fluffy. Add flour and liquid alternately in 3 or 4 portions. Begin and end with flour. Fold in cherries. Turn into pan. Bake at 350F 25 to 30 minutes until done.
2. Bake in 9 x 13 pan or 2 8 inch round cake pans.
