On Sunday afternoon, I baked Soft Oatmeal Cookies--my adaptation of the great Jenny Can Cook recipe.
I also baked three loaves of my Whole Wheat Oat Bran Bread. I will stash two in the freezer, and we will begin slicing the third tomorrow.
September 30, 2024 at 6:28 pm #44106I baked Pumpkin Snacking Cake on Monday and put yellow and orange sprinkles over the top in celebration of autumn.

October 1, 2024 at 7:57 pm #44119I lost power for 36 hours, Friday at 10:35 am till Saturday around 10:30 pm; and annoyingly lost internet for over 4 days even after the electricity came back. I rejoined the Internet world just after noon on Monday.
Since the power was off, I am trying to use up the quart of milk. I've done potato with cranberry rolls twice. I gave some of them away and ate quite a few. I'll be giving some more away tomorrow.
I think the contents of the freezer survived the outage but I had to do a purge of the refrigerator.
I am surprised that the winds came up from Florida so fast. I was thinking that it would take two days for the Hurricane to get to KY from Florida.October 2, 2024 at 8:24 am #44121Skeptic--I'm glad you have power--and Internet service--again.
October 2, 2024 at 3:20 pm #44128Today I baked English muffins, and an upside-down plum cake.
October 2, 2024 at 3:48 pm #44129On this Wednesday, I'm baking Whole Wheat Sourdough Cheese Crackers from the dough I made last week.
October 5, 2024 at 5:28 pm #44156I did not realize that my husband had been nibbling on the flatbread I baked last week, until I noticed that I only had one left for tonight. As I still have hummus to eat, I baked another recipe of flatbread, this time substituting in 18 g of dark rye for that much of the Italian Style Flour. I left the amounts of whole wheat and barley alone.
