Fried Apple Pies

Instructions
3 medium apples, peeled and chopped
1 Tbsp. water
2/3 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Pastry (recipe follows)
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Combine apples and water in a saucepan; cover and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain off any liquid that accumulates.
Combine sugar, flour, and spices; stir well. Add to apples and cook over medium heat 10 minutes or until mixture thickens.
Roll pastry to 1/8 inch thickness and cut out 4 or 5 inch circles. Spoon ~1 1/2 Tbsp. filling onto each circle. Moisten edges of circles; fold pastry in half. Using a fork dipped in flour, press edges together to seal.
Heat 1 inch of oil to 375. Fry pies until golden.

1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. oil
Combine flour and salt. Combne milk and oil, stirring well. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture and stir just until blended. Shape dough into a ball. (This is enough pastry for about 8 pies.)
