We had more of the chicken vegetable soup for dinner on Sunday.
September 13, 2026 at 11:00 pm #50050We wound up postponing the pizza, not sure when we'll do it at this point.
September 14, 2026 at 11:00 am #50051Yesterday I combined a pound of Italian sausage with a pound of lean ground beef and made small burger patties. Most of them went in the freezer but I withheld two of them for dinner. They were pretty good.
September 14, 2026 at 6:52 pm #50052September 14, 2026 at 7:11 pm #50055I made another jar of refrigerator dill pickles on Monday. They should be ready in a few days when the current jar is gone. We have more in the garden.
Dinner was more of the crock pot barbecued pork and rice. along with the rest of the yellow zucchini that I cooked last week and some microwaved frozen mixed vegetables.
September 14, 2026 at 7:15 pm #50056It's been so hot, just salads or sandwiches for me the last couple days. Should be cooling down a little soon.
September 15, 2026 at 6:09 pm #50058I had leftover soup for dinner on Tuesday, and Scott finished the barbecued pork with rice, to which he added some microwaved frozen vegetables.
September 15, 2026 at 9:38 pm #50059Pizza looks good Mike.
I had a sweet potato, topped with taco meat, avocado, cottage cheese and drizzled with hot honey. I was skeptical my friends daughter told me of this but it's actually good getting my protein.

Joan, that's an interesting dish, it sounds good.
Yesterday I made a sausage burger, mashed potato, green beans and carrots.
September 16, 2026 at 6:35 pm #50063I did bad today went to KFC for dinner it was actually good and now I'm having popcorn for supper.
September 16, 2026 at 6:54 pm #50064Hey, Joan, we all need the occasional treat! My guilty pleasure this week has been having real bacon on my tomato sandwiches. It came from the farmers market. It is too fatty for me, but I cook it well and drain the grease. I should be able to get a couple of packages of turkey bacon when we do our big grocery run tomorrow. I actually prefer the taste of the turkey bacon, even if it is a more processed food. It was not so easy eating the sandwich today, since I had a dental appointment this morning to remove a crown on a tooth that had developed a cavity under it. I have a temporary crown until I go back for the new one in about two weeks.
For dinner tonight, I made Pasta Estate (Italian word for summer). with caramelized zucchini, red bell pepper (half of it from our garden), green onions, garlic, halved cherry tomatoes, black pepper, and a bag of fully cooked, shelled shrimp from the freezer. The pasta was fettuccini. Some of the cherry tomatoes are from our plants, but most were from the farmers market.
I've started using small vegetable serving bowls from my various sets of dishes for large salads and for pasta. It keeps the vegetables, and in the case of tonight's dinner, the pasta, under control.
September 16, 2026 at 10:46 pm #50065I had spaghetti with salmon balls.
It really doesn't look like salmon, does it? I followed the recipe on the can and roasted them at 425 degrees for about 10 minutes on the convection mode.

I haven't been cooking much because for 2 weeks I've been having the small bathroom and floor outside of it renovated. Should be done by Saturday. In all this chaos I've been eating sandwiches and salad. But I did saute peppers, onions, chicken with BBQ sauce topped with sour cream the past 2 nights. I need my solitude back! Lol
