Norman Rockwell's Oatmeal Cookies

N:I love cookies and Nellie Srodulski, who cooks for us, makes the best ever.
Here is the recipe.

3/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs medium
1 cup ap flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal

Cream together the first 4 ingredients. Add 2 unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add and mix in the flour to which the salt and baking soda has been added and sifted together. Then add the quick-cooking oatmeal. Add nuts if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 8 minutes.
