      Easy Chiffon Cake

      2 cups flour
      1 tablespoon baking powder
      ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
      1 teaspoon salt
      1 ½ cups sugar
      ½ cup vegetable oil
      7 eggs, room temperature
      ¾ cup cold water
      1 tablespoon vanilla extract

      Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

      Mix flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt and sugar in a mixer bowl. Add oil, eggs, water and vanilla. Beat until mixture is smooth. Pour into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan.

      Bake 70 minutes, or until top springs back when touched lightly.

      Remove from oven and cool upside down. When completely cooled, remove from pan. Dust lightly with powdered sugar and serve with dessert sauce of choice.
