DESCRIPTION
A very good sour cream coffee cake. I copied the recipe from the original printed card; I think it's funny the way the instructions are written--sort of casual, like someone who knew the recipe was telling it to you.
SUMMARY
Yield 2 loaves Source Halls Crown Room (employee cafeteria of Hallmark Cards Corporate Offices) File under coffee cake, sour cream coffee cake
INGREDIENTS
Cake:
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar, granulated
3 eggs, whole
3 cups flour, cake
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
Filling:
1/2 cup sugar granulated
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 2 loaf pans 9 X 5 X 3.
Combine butter, sugar and eggs in large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
Mix in flour, baking powder, soda and salt alternately with sour cream.
Spread 1/4 of batter (about 1 1/2 cups) in each pan and sprinkle with 1/4 of filling (about 5 tablespoons); repeat.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly before removing from pans.
