      INGREDIENTS

      From the Kansas Wheat Commission

      Best Baked Do-Nuts

      2/3 c. shortening
      1 c. sugar
      2 eggs
      1 c. milk
      3 c. all-purpose flour
      4 1/2 t. baking powder
      1/2 t. salt
      1/2 t. nutmeg

      Preheat oven to 350°. Blend shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Combine or sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake about 15 minutes or until lightly brown. Prepare topping. Dip warm do-nuts in melted margarine and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Yield: 2 dozen medium do-nuts.

      Topping: 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted
      1/2 c. sugar
      1/2 t. cinnamon
