We have leftover pork, so our cooking today will be confined to steaming broccoli and boiling sweet corn. We've been able to find sweet corn at the farmers' market the past three Saturdays. The ears are small, but they are wonderfully sweet. I'm not sure how much more there will be.

For Tuesday dinner, I'm roasting chicken legs with sweet potatoes, maple syrup glaze, and rosemary. Steamed green beans will accompany the entree. I'm also roasting a Cinderella pumpkin that I bought at the farmers' market. I will use the pumpkin puree for baking.

I also took some of the boiled beef from making stock and it is soaking in barbecue sauce overnight. Since I can't get Heinz Sloppy Joe Sauce any more (Manwich has garlic in it), this may be what we eat instead of Sloppy Joes from this point on.

Mike I think I have a recipe for sloppy joes you can control what goes in it. I'll go to storage bin and see if I can find it. Haven't unpacked everything since I moved.

Mike this is one that my grandkids and nieces and nephews like, hope you can make it work for you. I change things a little almost each time I make it. I really enjoy garlic but don't always use it.

                          Instructions

Add butter to a large skillet or dutch oven over medium high heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain most of the fat and discard.

Add onions, green pepper, and garlic. Cook for a few minutes, or until vegetables begin to get soft.

Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili pepper, dry mustard, and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 15 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste. Also add tomato paste, Worcestershire, and Tabasco if desired. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

Spread rolls with butter and brown on a griddle or skillet. Spoon meat mixture over the rolls, topping with a slice of cheese if it makes your skirt fly up. Serve hot with kettle cooked chips!

I made pork bulgogi with sauce purchased from the Korean market. Spicy but tasty. I added onions and mushrooms too.
