On Sunday, I pulled out my last container of blackberry puree from the summer of 2024 and baked Bittersweet Blackberry Brownies, a favorite of Scott's. He says that it is this recipe that convinces him to maintain the blackberries in the meadow area of our woodlands. The brownies need to rest overnight, and they must stay in the refrigerator, due to using the blackberry puree.
Next day note: I used Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet chocolate this time, and it made a great recipe even better, so I will use it exclusively in this recipe.
August 4, 2025 at 8:03 pm #46946I noticed at breakfast on Monday that we were almost out of granola, so I baked a batch later in the morning.

August 5, 2025 at 9:04 pm #46958There were some shaping issues, but with how well it rose it is very light, sometimes this recipe comes out a bit on the dense site.

August 6, 2025 at 8:29 pm #46971That bread looks awesome, I'd love to try it Mike.
August 6, 2025 at 9:48 pm #46972They're crisp on the outside but soften over time, the inside is pillowy soft.
I started with 64 grams of dough each, the hot dog buns (in a pan) wind up around 52 grams each, the banh mi rolls are more like 45 grams each.
August 7, 2025 at 3:44 pm #46981Awesome Mike I loved how you cut out the channel for the wieners. Today I baked some sugar cookies from King Arthur recipes for my friends nephew's for snacks for his ball game and the colors were green, I found green sprinkles. I made the recipe with 2 tablespoons of white corn syrup instead of cream cheese. They're good.
