      DESCRIPTION
      Summer Sloppy Joes

      SUMMARY
Yield 0 File under Misc. Recipes & Requests

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1 TB olive oil
      1-1/2 pounds ground beef
      2 medium onions, chopped
      1 green pepper, chopped
      4 large garlic cloves, chopped
      1-1/2 TB chili powder
2 28-ounce cans Italian plum tomatoes, drained, chopped
      1/2 cup bottled chili sauce
      1/2 cup canned beef broth
      2 tsp red wine vinegar
      1-1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
      3 TB chopped fresh parsley

Heat olive oil in large skillet over high heat and add beef and cook until pink, breaking with a fork, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and mix in onions, green bell pepper and garlic. Cook until begins to soften stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Mix in chili powder and stir 1 minute. Add tomatoes, chili sauce, broth, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until vegetables are tender and mixture is thick, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Mix in parsley and serve.

This is from an old Bon Appetit, I believe 1991. Says it serves 4 so I usually double or triple for a group.
