      DESCRIPTION
      Amish Half-a-Pound Cake

      SUMMARY
      Yield 0 File under cakes

      INSTRUCTIONS
This recipe was taken from a Google Groups member board, the recipe comes from Marcia Adam's "Cooking From Quilt Country".

      2 cups flour, sifted
      1 1/2 cups sugar
      4 large eggs
      2 tsp vanilla
      2 tsp baking powder
      1/2 tsp salt
      1 cup butter, softened
      1/2 cup milk
      1/4 tsp mace, rounded

      Grease a 10-inch tube pan.

Combine all the listed ingredients, mix on medium speed for 20 minutes. Place in cold oven, turn heat to 350F and bake for 1 hour.

Immediately invert cake onto rack to cool. If it sticks to the pan, run a thin bladed knife around the pan, to loosen it, and give it a good whack to knock out the cake. Allow to cool completely before serving.
