We had chili for supper again.
I was gifted with smoked deer sausage so I made buttermilk biscuits to sop some cane syrup and had a slice of cheese. That's pure comfort food. I took leftovers to my friend.
Cwcdesign your stroganoff sounds delicious and BakerAunt your turkey sounds delicious too!
I roasted a small pork tenderloin and had it with pasta, sugar snap peas and cauliflower.
Those biscuits and sausage look real good, Joan!
I roasted a fresh salmon filet, made mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas. Rather than simmering the potatoes, I steamed them. I think they come out better that way.
I agree about the potatoes, Len. I started steaming mine rather than boiling them, and the flavor and texture is far superior.
We had leftover turkey breast and Greek Cheese pasta with microwaved fresh broccoli for Friday's dinner.
Thanks Len on the biscuits and sausage, one of my favorites. Tonight I had a tomato sandwich with bacon.
Arrived in Florida on NYD and have been trying to fill my larder ever since. I tend to shop sales so I check out all the ads and find myself going to multiple stores. Found some interesting products at Homegoods like pomegranate glaze, avocado oil and Italian imported pasta. Last night we had salad with roasted chicken, cherry tomatoes, glazed pecans and the imported pasta for substance.
Enjoy your time in Florida, Navlys.
After going to the farmers market on Saturday morning, Scott and I went by the grocery store as we were out of bananas. We checked the meat aisle and found ham hocks for $2 off, marked down for quick sale. We both agreed that black-eyed peas with brown rice, ham, and kale would make a great dinner this evening, so that is what we had, and it was an excellent dinner for a chilly evening. We have enough for several more meals.
