We repeated Saturday night's dinner on Sunday, except that I baked cornbread hearts to go with it.

Made the frugal gourmet's crust less quiche but I always use cheddar, provolone and asiago instead of jack cheese.

I'm continuing to forage through my freezers, I wanted spaghetti and meatballs but I have some Bubba Burger patties that have been in there for a couple of years, so it was spaghetti and a burger patty. Not bad at all.

Thanks, CWCdesign, I seem to have escaped serious injury. My hands are still a bit sore, but not like that first evening. I'm trying not to overdo it, since the last time I fell, the damage (swollen knee) did not show up for three days, right before we left for Florida in December. We are getting ready for a trip to San Diego for my bonus daughter's wedding at the end of the month, so I'm trying to balance what needs to be done with rest.

We had more of the soup and cornbread for dinner on Monday. I froze some of the soup so that it will be waiting for us when we return. I also made yogurt today.

How are you coming along with your shoulder surgery recovery?

We found a ham on sale at Aldi's last week, and on Tuesday I opened it up. We had ham sandwiches for dinner, mine with mayonnaise, German mustard, and spinach. Scott skips the mustard on his. The Pumpernickel Sandwich Bread was perfect with the ham.

BA - I had my 2 week follow up today - the staples were removed and no more sling - I'm supposed to just be carefully using and stretching my right arm - PT starts on Monday. I had stopped the pain meds last Tuesday as I was not in pain - Tylenol is enough - I am still exhausted -as my doc pointed out this morning I did have major surgery! He lifted my right arm to where I could barely reach before the surgery and it didn't hurt the way it did 2 weeks ago - modern medicine is amazing - I can drive when I can reach the top of the steering wheel without pain. Will leaves tomorrow - I will miss him -and my friend Debby arrives for 2 weeks to help with rehab.

That is excellent progress, so far, CWCdesign. Be patient with yourself as you recover. Surgery is a trauma to the body, although the results will make it all worthwhile. I'm glad that you had Will there to help you, and that a friend will be helping for the next two weeks. We take so many of our movements for granted until we injure something.

On Wednesday, I made Crispy Oven Fish and Chips, which we had with the rest of the Dill Tartar Sauce from last week. We also had microwaved fresh broccoli

Had stir fry on Wednesday. Yesterday tortellini with pesto and sweet Italian sausage. I had a bumper crop of basil last summer and alot of pesto in the freezer.

Kimbob--It's always nice to have special items tucked away in the freezer.

I needed to use up my remaining Winesap apples, so on Friday, I made Butterscotch Apple Sweet Roll filling and froze it. I used the rest of the apples to make apple pie filling and freeze it.

Dinner tonight was ham sandwiches on pumpernickel again, with cherry tomatoes on the side.

Made some potato salad but, darn it, didn't have any celery. Oh well. I saved a couple of potatoes and the potato water to use in a whole wheat loaf.

For Saturday night's dinner, I made cavatappi pasta tossed with goat cheese, which we had with sliced ham and microwaved fresh broccoli.
