      Mom's Miracle Whip Cake

      DESCRIPTION
      A moist chocolate cake

      SUMMARY
      Yield 0 File under cakes

      INGREDIENTS
      1 cup sugar
      2 cups flour
      pinch of salt
      2 teaspoons soda
      4 teaspoons cocoa powder
      1 cup lukewarm water
      1 cup Miracle Whip at room temperature

      Ingredients for Icing
      3 tablespoons softened butter
      3 tablespoons cocoa powder
      Powdered sugar
      just enough milk to moisten

      INSTRUCTIONS
      Stir all ingreditents together. Do Not overmix. Pour into a prepared 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes.

      It is really important that the Miracle Whip be at room temperature.

      Icing

      Stir all ingredients together adding just enough milk to make icing spreadable. Spread over cake.

      Seems as if I made a mistake when typing this recipe. The 4 teaspoons of cocoa powder in the cake ingredients list should be 4 tablespoons. Sorry for the mistake. bb

      And here I always thought that was my grandmother's mayonnaise cake recipe!! Although her icing was a cooked one that's just like fudge. I haven't made it in awhile, so I think I will right now!
