Schnitzel My Great Grandmother's Way

DESCRIPTION
This is the way we make Schnitzel in our family: Pork,not veal. pan fried, not deep fried. Different from the Austrian, traditional style Schnitzel but not less delicious.
You can use bone-in pork chops, but i usually buy a pork loin, slice it and tenderize it. Then i proceed as below.

• Pork chops or pork steaks
• 1 large egg
• a good pinch of salt
• a good pinch pepper
• a few grindings of freshly ground nutmeg.
• plain bread crumbs
• shortening or oil for the pan
