I just found a banana cake recipe online that calls for baking the cake in a 300* oven and then immediately putting it in the freezer so that it does not overbake. The recipe received rave reviews and only one person questioned putting the cake in the freezer. Personally I don't like the idea of putting something hot in my freezer and bringing the temperature down. Does anyone else find this strange?
Yes, strange to me too.I remember reading this awhile back but I don't think I'd do it.
I wonder if this is a recipe adapted from a commercial kitchen, where they would likely have access to a blast chiller.
Navlys, If you really want to try this recipe, and you live in a cold winter climate, I'd vote for waiting until it was freezing outside!
