Should we start stocking up? Will cocoa last?
Pure cocoa powder has a fairly long shelf life, because cocoa solids don't turn rancid like cocoa fats can.
I"m not planning on loading up the pantry with cocoa, though.
I actually seem to have a pretty good stash of cocoa. Clearly I need to bake more chocolate desserts.
I keep my cocoa in the refrigerator or freezer. It lasts a long time if I stick to hot chocolate or chocolate scones, but brownies can use up a lot of cocoa fast.
Has anyone made chocolate yeast bread? I think I did it before and can only remember that this recipe does need sugar or honey to taste right.
