I started to make a pound cake for one of my friends yesterday and before I could get started some long time friends called saying they were coming by this morning on the way home to Lakeland ,Fla. My friend had made a remark to me saying how she liked pineapple upside down cakes so I baked her one first, when that came out of the oven I baked a cream cheese pound cake. I just got a call from my Florida friends they were home and were eating cake , so life is good!My friends wife makes beautiful quilts and she brought me one with my Georgia Bulldogs on it woot woot I'm happy even though they played like crappy Saturday.
September 30, 2025 at 10:21 pm #47436On Tuesday evening, I made dough for Cinnamon Swirl Pumpkin Rolls, shaped them, and put them in the refrigerator to bake tomorrow morning. I replaced the usual 3 Tbs. of brown sugar with 2 Tbs. of maple syrup, as I had two bottles that I wanted to clean out.
October 1, 2025 at 7:01 pm #47442I baked the Cinnamon Swirl Pumpkin rolls on Wednesday morning, which was an excellent way to welcome the first day of October. I turned them out of the ceramic baking dish immediately, as they tend to stick when they cool. I put them on a square platter. While the bottoms may still be a little sticky on the platter, it really helps not to have the sides stick.
October 3, 2025 at 5:26 pm #47459On Friday, I baked five small loaves of Wholegrain Zucchini bread. Most are destined for the freezer, but we will eat at least one for desserts. The quick bread used up the 2 cups of Golden Arrow zucchini that I had left over from the meatloaf I made last night.
I also baked Whole Wheat Sourdough Cheese Crackers from dough I made last Saturday.

October 5, 2025 at 9:33 am #47469I mixed up Potato Raisin Rolls yesterday and will be baking today. I finished up computer learning last weekend and now will have time to do some fun baking. Well that is if I can find flour. I was at the grocery store(s) yesterday and they didn't have 5lb KAF all-purpose. They did have 10lb and organic but not 5lb. I want to make some pepperoni pizza and I already bought 2 lbs of beef pepperoni. Last time I froze this in packages of 15 slices which is not enough. I think I need 22 or 24 slices to completely cover a 9x13 pizza.
