I ran across this article with a technique for getting better taste from canned tomatoes:

https://www.bonappetit.com/story/how-to-get-the-most-flavor-out-of-canned-tomatoes?mbid=nl_NL012719am_daily_recipeoftheday&CNDID=44882808&utm_source=nl&utm_medium=email&utm_brand=ba&utm_mailing=BON%20APPETIT%20NL012719AM%20(1)&bxid=MTUxNzk4ODA4MTg3S0&hasha=c2ffcf78ce760c4feca3d04b80fdc8a1&hashb=49db56dcba01e22b107c77e00688acfb4b3bc6a1&spMailingID=24735799&spUserID=MTUxNzk4ODA4MTg3S0&spJobID=1384495657&spReportId=MTM4NDQ5NTY1NwS2

I plan to give it a try when I'm back home cooking.

That's interesting. I'll give it a try next time I make a sauce.

I think my mother would add a little vinegar to canned tomatoes.
