Good Morning All!
As a preface, I have decided to bake biscotti for our annual bake sale this year, so I came to see if some of the threads from KAF had been transferred. I did save some of the ones I was looking for and would like to know if you would like me to post them. There are recipes on the Internet for ‘cinnamon roll pancakes’ that come up with a Google search, but I haven’t tried any of them.

I like the Pancake Art pages better, though I think they may take more artistic talent than I’ve got. (The examples in this one are all a Christmas theme, I don’t think he waits long enough so the colors aren’t very distinct.)0November 7, 2016 at 2:31 pm #5434

I did a search for “pan grease” (note the double quotes) and here’s a thread it came up with:

Okay, the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes look decadent, but I’m going to try them before year’s end. For breakfast-for-dinner instead of breakfast. Looks like more work than I want to go to for breakfast. But they look yummy.
Mike, is it my imagination, or did you make the font bigger on this site? Even if it’s my imagination, I’m appreciative to see the words easier, especially the names of the posters. I typed in Pan Grease earlier and it was not bringing it up unless I wanted to spend an hour so I just bailed out.
I always made up 1/2 cup of each and I used it up before going bad and stored in the fridge it won’t go bad.
DvdLee started talking about it early on on the oldBC and I mentioned that my sister told me about it in 1973 when she took a cake decorating class. We had many long threads about it thru the years.0November 7, 2016 at 6:58 pm #5447
I haven’t changed anything regarding font size for several months. I did make several style changes in the first two months and it’s possible that some of the recent automatic updates have affected things like colors and font sizes, though if they did I didn’t notice them myself.
In order for the search tool to limit to a two word or longer term, you have to put it in DOUBLE quotes: “pan grease”. Just now that returned 13 items. If you leave out the double quotes, you’ll get more like 650 hits, because it’ll match any post that has either ‘pan’ or ‘grease’ in it.0November 7, 2016 at 7:06 pm #5448

I also posted a Christmas cookie thread. I will need to go back and see if I have missed any of those I saved.

I have just posted MrsCindy/Sandra’s thread on croissant making with crusty Gruyere bread added in – it’s a great read and reminds us why we all loved the BC. I’m going back in to reformat it a little bit because it’s pretty long.
Italiancook – I posted the Cinnamon Roll Pancake thread and like so many others, it turned into a completely different discussion – it became all about cardamon – a few good recipes for it if you’re interest. However, frick promised to post about the pancakes and never did 🙂 – something else that would happen frequently.
I think after I clean the thread up, I’m done for the day. rottiedogs, I don’t know how you do it.

Mike, is there a way of deleting the duplicate thread I posted. I corrected one to be in Threads saved from KAF. The other I left in General Discussions and retitled it Cinnamon Roll Pancakes – content deleted since that is what I did.
EDIT: I just went back to check and for some reason I was not able to delete the content of the post nor change the title. So there are 2 postings – one in “Threads” and one in “General Discussions” aaargh 🙂

cwc, I am indeed interested in cardamom recipes. I recently purchased a bottle of cardamom and really don’t know what to make with it. I had rice at an Indian restaurant that was delicious. The waitress said it had cardamom in it. Now that I have a rice maker, I’m going to try to replicate the flavor. Other than that, I’m at a loss, so I’ll be checking the thread. Thank you so much for posting about the pan grease; I was thinking about it just the other day. With all the holiday baking going on, I wanted to give it a try. I am really tired of the spray stuff and all the sticky residue. I would also be interested in the cardamom recipes when posted. Cardamom is a favorite spice in many Scandinavian recipes. I actually buy it in the pods, and take out the seeds and pulverize them as needed. I use it in Lucia Buns (St. Lucia’s Day coming up on Dec. 13!). I also have a Pear Cardamom Crisp recipe that uses it. The cardamom Bundt cake that I posted about a few weeks ago got rave reviews at my church, and two people asked for the recipe.
There are two kinds of cardamom. I buy the white pod kind. I think that the other kind might be used more in Indian food. The best place to look to check on that distinction would be the Penzey’s website.0December 7, 2016 at 6:07 pm #5869
